dc.description.abstract This study was designed to attain three objectives of (a) exploring the understanding of ‘innovation’ by the members of the field level innovation teams in Bangladesh; (b) understanding the innovation activities of the innovation teams; and (c) assessing effectiveness and sustainability of the innovations worked out by the innovation teams. It followed an exploratory research design. Data were collected through qualitative interviews. A checklist was used to conduct the interviews. Two trained interviewers were sent to the district and Upazila levels to interview officials of the information teams. The districts and the Upazilas were selected following multistage sampling. Thus, fifteen district level and sixteen Upazila level innovation teams were sampled. The innovation officer and one member from each selected team were interviewed. All together sixty-two officers were interviewed. The interviews were transcribed. Codes were developed from the transcriptions and themes were developed from the codes in line with the three objectives. en_US
