dc.description.abstract	This collection of documents is intended to provide to the world a primary source of information on developments pertaining to the crisis that overtook East Bengal in March 1971. The crisis involves the destiny of 75 million inhabitants of East Bengal, and also peace and security of this region. Its roots are in the past, and it has implications for future. Response of the international community to this tragedy has been of compassion and concern. All facts bearing on it therefore need be known.
