The Bangladesh Public Administration Training Centre (BPATC) Library and Training Aids (LTA) Division serves as a strategic knowledge gateway for civil servants, faculty members, researchers, and course participants. Designed to support research, policy analysis, and advanced public administration training, the library provides a seamless synthesis of traditional print collections and state-of-the-art digital e-resources.
Organisational Structure
The LTA Department operates under two primary branches to facilitate academic and technical requirements across the Centre:
- Documentation Branch (Library Management): Oversees collection development, technical processing, digital repository administration, e-resource subscriptions, scanning, and reader services.
- Audio-Visual & Reprography (AVR) Branch: Manages classroom multimedia systems, photography/videography archives, public address equipment, and high-volume reprographic and duplication services.
Library Facilities & Dedicated Corners
Spread across multi-tiered facilities, the library includes specialized sections tailored to diverse research needs:
- General Reading Room & Stack Area: Multi-floor open stack area providing access to over 120,000 volumes. It is located at 1st floor of Library building
- Liberation War Corner: Features a curated collection of over 2,000 specialized titles on the 1971 Liberation War and history of Bangladesh.
- Bureaucrats Corner: A dedicated section preserving administrative history, public policy records, and civil service literature.
- Faculty Reading Hall & Reference Room: Quiet study zones offering encyclopedias, dictionaries, and specialized reference volumes. This rooms are located in General Reading Room area.
- UNICEF Child Resource Centre: Specialized learning zone for children’s literature and developmental resources.
- Journal & Newspaper Section: Houses daily national print newspapers, bound journal volumes, and categorized newspaper clippings.
- Socialization & Coffee Corner: An informal space designed for collaborative discussions and networking.
